Why does the sintering of diamond beads require higher technical standards and pose greater process challenges than the preparation of ordinary diamond tools?
First of all, the wall thickness of the wire saw bead structure is relatively thin, so the corresponding mold is also thin and light. Higher pressure needs to be applied during the cold pressing process, which places more stringent requirements on the strength of the mold material. If the mold performance is insufficient, it is prone to damage. Of course, if The Metal Powder matrix material itself has good formability and can achieve high density even under low pressure, the problem of mold damage can also be solved.

Secondly, the technical staff of Sagwell also mentioned that due to the small cross-sectional area of the beads, the conductive path is limited, resulting in slow heating speed. Moreover, the uniformity of temperature distribution is difficult to control, which easily leads to inconsistency in the structure of the sintered body.
Thirdly, the traditional integrated sintering mold is extremely inconvenient to demold. If a single-layer mold with a small height is used, its structural strength and stability are often insufficient; if the mold height is increased to improve strength, the cost will be significantly increased.
